About

Where to begin? I honestly don’t know but here is a little about me. I am currently in my twenties, and live in the Marina, California and will shortly move to Salinas, California. I have now lived here for about a year and previously lived in Selma. Currently my wife Gina and I are temporarily living with her parents while we wait for our new home to be finished.

As far as my profession, I am a Network Engineer at heart. In my past lives I have had some very interesting jobs. My personal favorite was several years back working for AboveNet as an IP Operations Engineer. At AboveNet during the prime of the Dot Com we had a decent percentage of the world’s internet traffic. There with the team of Engineers I was able to be a key player in much of the behind the scenes portions of the internet. From AboveNet I moved on to Pelco where I also spent a good portion of time. I eventually made it into my desired position there as Network Engineer. During that time I migrated the whole network into a pure Cisco domain, as well as implementing many new key systems and procedures. However, the time came to pursue a new opportunity as a Hardware Engineer for a company named Telos. At Telos now I was a Defense Contractor and not only was I responsible for the evaluation, and approval of all the hardware on our program, but I also assisted with the management of the program itself. It is a different pace of life and I over time got more and more used to it. Presently I am a Sr. Network Engineer at Equinix. Equinix is the heart of the internet and we are the world largest neutral internet exchange. As far as hobbies I honestly would not know where to begin. I recently became the proud new owner of a Toyota Prius, and I must say it’s a beautiful car. Perhaps more so from the inside to some. I have many outdoors hobbies and to summarize I would say almost anything you can do outdoors from bike riding to sport shooting I have done and enjoyed doing. I brew my own beer, and its pretty darn good too. I also am a scuba diver. Recreationally I am a PADI Master Scuba Diver, and Professionally I am a PADI Divemaster. Of course when all else fails there is the internet, and that is where a good portion of my time is spent. I also host all of my own services, and use that as a learning experience and I especially enjoy throwing all kinds of tools together on my servers. I also have been known to dabble in the radio communications world. Being a licensed Amateur Radio Operator myself I have had years to tinker with all different kinds and ways of communicating wirelessly. I did not stop there however, as it was a gateway for me to get into the wonderful world of GSM/CDMA/TDMA/EDGE/3G/ETC. communications. For a while I offered Mobile Phone servicing and was in the process of becoming a Sony Ericsson Authorized Mechanical Repair Center, but decided it was not something I wanted to go through with due to the fact that it was not a career but a hobby.

So that’s a little bit about me.. or is it? You be the judge. I am sure you will learn a lot from what I write here, and be sure to check my links as well. For now,
Brandon
